Thank you to all those who attended, participated, and volunteered for this year Gala. There are so many people that make the Gala such a special event.

Please feel free to comment on this post as to the best dish of 2009. The food and wine was fabulous, however most of us have a personal favorite. We are also open to any comments on how to make the event better next year. To leave your comments, click on Thank You!

Also, we will be adding pictures to the site in a photo album so that you can relive the experience through the power of photography.

Due to increase in reservations received last week, the reservation deadline has been extended until August 7. Please call 419-448-7485 for reservation or purchase your tickets online through PayPal.  We are excited as the event approaches and hope to see you there.

The Franciscan Earth Literacy Center is pleased to announce Heidelberg University and Alvada Construction as Event Sponsors for the second annual Summer Harvest Gourmet Gala.

The Franciscan Earth Literacy Center (FELC) will host the 2nd annual Summer Harvest Gourmet Gala on August 8, 2009 on the St. Francis Campus. This premiere food and wine tasting event  showcases the culinary talents of regional chefs  and features a sampling of Ohio wines.

The Gala is also a fund raiser for the Center and Seeds of Hope Farm and is designed to offer guests a unique opportunity: to taste gourmet fare featuring the locally-grown, chemical-free produce from the Farm and to meet the chefs who prepared the dishes.

This year’s event will feature the following chefs: Michael Bulkowski from Revolver Restaurant in Findlay, Gary Rosilli from Rosilli’s Restaurant in Findlay, Alisa McPheron from Main Street Bistro in Lima, Glenn Teets from Tiffin University in Tiffin,  Angel Moreno from Moreno’s Casual Dining in Carey, Tom and Linda Lambert from Bella Cuisine in Fremont, Jim Rhegness from Penta Career Center in Perrysburg (a recent Food Network contestant),  Mike McClellan from Tiffin,  Heidelberg University Dining,  and Keith Mosser from Ralph’s Joy of Living.

Reservations are required and tickets are priced at $75.00 per person.  To reserve your ticket, please contact the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center at 419-448-7485 or earthliteracy@sbcglobal.net.

The following Vintners are participating in this year’s event.  Firelands Winery,  Stoney Ridge Winery,  D&D Smith Winery.   We look forward to sampling their wines during the event.
